1720 signs MARCO BOSCO

1720 Entertainment is proud to announce the signing of international recording artist Marco Bosco, a.k.a. KVN. The artist/producer/songwriter sensation will release his first U.S. album later this year on 1720/Universal Fontana. His first single, "If I Don't Have You," is currently available on iTunes and is sampled throughout "Chasing Sunshine," the hot new single by Capitol recording artist MIMS.

When MIMS first heard Bosco's version of "If I Don't Have You," he was captivated, not only by the meaning of the song, but its powerful and eclectic orchestrated sound and its relevant message to society.  Claiming two top ten Billboard hits to his name, including the #1 "This Is Why I'm Hot," MIMS invited Bosco to reproduce an alternative hip hop version of the original tune for his new
album, using the chorus and original music from "If I Don't Have You." As a result, the Bosco-produced song, "Chasing Sunshine," has already garnered a huge online buzz and is part of MIMS' new album, Guilt. Bosco also made a recent guest appearance on MIMS' episode of MTV "Cribs," performing the chorus of "If I Don't Have You."

Marco Bosco became a multi-platinum selling artist in his home country of Italy, although his music career started at the famed Silver Cup Studios in Queens, New York when he was only nine years old.  He was selected to be part of a pop group called 5 Stars that performed daily on an Italian variety show hosted by Raffaella Carra, and broadcast worldwide by media giant RAI International.

Bosco and 5 Stars were signed by Italian major label Fonitcetra, and shared the stage with some of the biggest names in music including James Brown, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Tina Turner and Stevie Wonder. After 5 Stars, Bosco chose to pursue his career in London, where he formed a band that quickly caught fire and led to a successful tour with Nelly Furtado and popular British band Bush. Shortly after, Bosco and his band released their debut English language EP throughout Italy, which sold more than 250,000 units in six weeks.

His American debut came in early 2009 when 1720 Entertainment/Universal Fontana released "If I Don't Have You," which features orchestra arranger Eddie Horst, best known for his work with Bruce Springsteen. Based on inspirations from Bosco's experience in London and Miami after taking a break from his band, the single is his first release from his forthcoming album, Sweet Conspiracy, and is now available for download on iTunes. The project will soon be released to Top 40 and Hot AC radio.

Soon, Bosco will make his acting debut in the Chinese feature film Copy Cat, set for release nationwide in China later this year.  The movie is a dark comedy based on piracy in the music industry in Asia.  In addition to being the only Westerner in the mix of an all-star cast of Chinese pop stars, Bosco also became the first Westerner to film a music video in Beijing for his song "Break Away," slated to be his second single.
