Rissi on the West Coast
RISSI PALMER MAKES WHIRLWIND VISIT TO WEST COASTNashville, TN - July 20, 2007...Since releasing her debut single "Country Girl," rising new country star, Rissi Palmer has been visiting radio stations and playing for country music fans all across the country.
On Friday, July 13, the young singer/songwriter kicked-off a week-long visit to the West Coast that began with a New Artist radio show in Seattle, WA, sponsored by KKWF-FM "The Wolf". The show also featured country newcomers Whiskey Falls.
On Saturday (7/14), Palmer made her performance debut at the world-famous Crystal Palace in Bakersfield. Buddy Owens, son of the late legendary country star and club owner, Buck Owens, was headlining the show that night and after Palmer's set, he invited her to stick around and sing a song with he and the Buckaroos. They performed an impromptu version of Janis Joplin's classic hit, "Me & Bobby McGee."
On Sunday (7/15) Palmer was off to the Raging Waters Water Park in San Dimas, CA for an hard-driving acoustic performance at Los Angeles' KKGO-FM "Go Country" New Artist Show. Her new friends, Whiskey Falls, were also on the bill, along with Cole Deggs and Sarah Buxton.
"What an incredible day," says Palmer. "When we performed our new "Country Girl" single, it was the first time an audience had ever sang the song along with me. I almost got all choked up when I heard them and I didn't want it to end. What an amazing feeling!"
On Monday, Palmer was off to make visits and give acoustic performances at Yahoo's headquarters in Santa Monica, CA and the Academy of Country Music in Encino, CA, where she signed up to become an official member.
She wrapped the tour with stops at more California radio stations including KATM-FM in Stockton/Modesto; KRTY in San Jose and KNCI-FM in Sacramento.
Rissi Palmer's debut single, "Country Girl," is featured on her upcoming self-titled album from 1720 Entertainment with the video airing on CMT and GAC video channels. A four-song digital EP is now being offered exclusively on iTunes by Starbucks Entertainment.
