Debut Single Release

RISSI PALMER PREPARES TO SHOW THE WORLD SHE’S A “COUNTRY GIRL”

1720 Entertainment’s Rising New Star Releases

Debut Single June 4, with Album to Follow in the Fall
Nashville, TN…May 7, 2007… Rising new country singer/songwriter, Rissi Palmer was born a star. Her talent has been evident since she was a young girl standing on a milk crate, singing in her church choir. As a young adult, Palmer was offered a pop deal by famed producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis (Janet Jackson, Mary J Blige, Gwen Stefani). However, it was country music that she truly wanted to pursue.

“Making that decision was probably one of the hardest things I’ve had to do, but my heart has always belonged to country music and I knew that it would ultimately be the musical path I would take,” Palmer says. “I’ve always loved the music because it has such integrity and tells such great stories that everyone can relate to – its the music of life."

And Rissi Palmer’s debut single proves that very thing.

“Country Girl” hits radio airwaves on June 4th. The song, written by Palmer along with Sarah Majors, Dan Shea, Shannon Sanders and Cory Rooney, is an upbeat, blues-tinged anthem that calls on women everywhere to embrace their inner country girl, no matter where they’re from.

Although “Country Girl” doesn’t officially come out until summer, select stations have already started spinning the song and getting tremendous reviews.
“I’ll never forget the day I heard ‘Country Girl’ on the radio for the first time,” Palmer remembers with a grin. “It came on after Tim McGraw's ‘Last Dollar.’ To be perfectly honest, I didn't really get to listen that much because I was on my cell phone calling everyone I know. It was such an amazing day!”
The video, directed by Kristen Barlowe (“Bring It On Home” – Little Big Town, “Nothing Bout Love” – LeAnn Rimes, “Always Be My Baby” – Sara Evans), was filmed in Memphis, TN. The video captures contrasting landscapes and diverse individuals throughout the town, and illustrates the point that being country really is just a “state of mind.”

Palmer is presently on the road making radio visits across the country to promote the new single from her forthcoming self-titled debut album for the Atlanta-based independent label, 1720 Entertainment. On May 18, she’ll be featured on the popular social website MySpace.com boasting more than 140 million members, and visitors will be able to preview “Country Girl” prior to the June 4 release. Palmer is also a member of MySpace and her page can be found at http://www.myspace.com/rissipalmer.
